History== The Lockheed AC-130 is a heavily armed ground attack aircraft/gunship and it is a combat variant of the Lockheed C-130 Cargo plane. Although Lockheed manufactured the airframe, Boeing is responisble for its conversion into a gunship.
So far a total of 47 of this aircraft have been produced, this number includes all variants and it is still in service with the USAF.
